Adam’s Mock Draft 2.0

With NFL Free agency shaping up, I sat down and made a few changes to my original mock draft. So without trying to come up with some fancy set up I’m just going to get right down to it.

  1. Tennessee Titans: LT- Laramey Tunsil – Ole Miss.  Nothing changed here. I still think this is their best bet if they don’t trade away the #1 pick.
  2. Cleveland Browns: S- Jalen Ramsey – Florida State.  When I came up with this pick it was under the impression that the Browns would acquire current 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, that hasn’t happened yet, and is looking very unlikely.  But if they do I think they will take the BPA and that would be Jalen Ramsey.
  3. San Diego Chargers: LT- Ronnie Stanley – Notre Dame.  I think that they want to improve on the offensive line and protect Phillip Rivers.  Stanley is a top notch Left Tackle.
  4. Dallas Cowboys: DE Joey Bosa – Ohio State.  Bosa had a big pro day in Columbus and the Cowboys would be lucky to grab him here, with Greg Hardy departing the team rightfully so, Bosa steps right in and continues to help the Cowboy defense reek havoc on QB’s.
  5. Jacksonville Jaguars: OLB Myles Jack – UCLA.  There is talks of Jack going as high as #2 to Cleveland, Jack will add to an already talented Defense, with the addition of Tashaun Gipson, Malik Jackson, and Prince Amukamara and the return of Dante Fowler the Jaguars are talkin’ playoffs.
  6. Baltimore Ravens: G Vadal Alexander – LSU. Again, I would be very surprised to see if Baltimore keeps this pick with both QB’s still on the board, but if they do I think they replace Osmele who left the team for the Oakland Raiders.
  7. San Francisco 49ers: QB Jared Goff – Cal.  The first quarterback is finally taken, and the niners would be ecstatic if he does fall all the way to #7. Chip Kelly gets his quarterback, and Goff gets to stay on the West Coast. Its a win-win situation.
  8. Philadelphia Eagles: DE Deforrest Buckner – Oregon.  After shipping Kiko Alonso and Byron Maxwell to the Miami Dolphins, they switched places in the first round giving the Eagles the #8 pick. Buckner and Bosa are two of the most talented pass rushers in this draft.  In a draft that is stacked with great D-Lineman Buckner is one of the best and the Eagles are lucky to grab him here making that trade very worth it.
  9. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: DE Shaq Lawson – Clemson.  Shaq Lawson is a beast and was not included in my original mock draft due to an error on my part.  Lawson is very easily a top 10 pick and the Bucs defense gets better.
  10. New York Giants: CB Vernon Hargreaves – Florida.  With Prince Amukamara departed and joining the Jaguars the Giants grab Hargreaves to take his place.  I would also not be surprised at all to see Ezekiel Elliot drafted here.
  11. Chicago Bears: DT A’Shawn Robinson – Alabama.  The Bears grab the top interior defensive lineman in the draft, in most drafts Robinson would go much higher, great value pick here for the Bears.
  12. New Orleans Saints: DT Sheldon Rankins – Louisville.  If you read the description above the same could be said here about Rankins.  With the addition of James Laurenitis and Rankins the Saints are very solid up the middle.
  13. Miami Dolphins: RB Ezekiel Elliot – Ohio State.  The Dolphins are in need of a Running Back. Lamar Miller headed to Houston so the Dolphins put in an offer sheet on C.J. Anderson, but Denver matched leaving Miami without option A and option B.  Zeke would make the Dolphins and their fans happy that it worked out this way.
  14. Oakland Raiders: DE Robert Nkemdiche – Ole Miss. With the additions of Sean Smith, Bruce Irvin, and Kelechi Osmele it opens up the Raiders being able to add Nkemdiche to pair up with Khalil Mack and help lead the Raiders to the playoffs which they are clearly going in the right direction.
  15. Los Angeles Rams: QB Carson Wentz – North Dakota State.  If nobody trades up for Wentz the Rams get their guy at 15.  They would be beyond ecstatic if Wentz is able to fall to them.
  16. Detroit Lions: LT Jack Conklin – Michigan State.  With the retirement of Calvin Johnson, the Lions added Marvin Jones to help there leaving their biggest hole at LT. Keeping Stafford up long enough to find Jones or Golden Tate will be big, Conklin will help with that.
  17. Atlanta Falcons: OLB Leonard Floyd – Georgia.  Floyd stays in state to help out the Falcons and get some pass rush out of their defense.
  18. Indianapolis Colts: G Cody Whitehair – Kansas State.  The Colts need to keep Andrew Luck healthy so they grab the best available lineman in the draft. Cody Whitehair come on down.
  19. Buffalo Bills: CB Mackensie Alexander – Clemson.  Alexander was one of the best cover corners in College Football last season.  When you play in the AFC East your defense is never good enough.  Alexander helps the Bills defense get closer.
  20. New York Jets: LT Taylor Decker – Ohio State. Ryan Fitzpatrick is still a Free Agent and the Jets have expressed intrest in RG3, so I dont see them taking a quarterback here. I think they will do what they can to protect whoever it is that is taking snaps for them and Taylor Decker will be a great addtion for the Jets.
  21. Washington Redskins: C Ryan Kelley –  Alabama.  Redskins biggest need is C. The best available O-Lineman happens to play C. That is another classic case of win-win.
  22. Houston Texans: WR LeQuon Treadwell – Ole Miss.  Brock Osweiler, Lamar Miller, and now Treadwell and DeAndre Hopkins;finally the Texans may have an offense that compliments their defense if Osweiler ends up being worth half of what they paid for him.
  23. Minnesota Vikings: WR Corey Coleman – Baylor.  Some say that Coleman is the top WR in the draft, others say its Treadwell, either way the Vikings get a weapon to help Teddy Bridgewater.
  24. Cincinnati Bengals: WR Michael Thomas – Ohio State.  A run of receivers ends here in Cincy, after losing Sanu, and Jones the Bengals add Thomas a fantastic route runner to pair with stud A.J. Green.
  25. Pittsburgh Steelers: CB Eli Apple – Ohio State.  Steelers need corners and love Buckeyes. Apple fits perfectly in Pittsburgh.
  26. Seattle Seahawks: G Sebastian Tretola – Arkansas.  The Seahawks lost Marshawn Lynch to retirement, so they need to beef up their O-Line to help Thomas Rawls fill in beastmode’s shoes. Tretola will help them run up the middle.
  27. Green Bay Packers: LB Reggie Ragland – The best inside linebacker in the draft falls to the perfect spot in Green Bay.  He will step in and make an impact immediately.
  28. Kansas City Cheifs: OLB Derron Lee – Ohio State. The Cheifs need someone outside from Derrick Johnson and paired up with Justin Houston, Lee would compliment them perfectly.
  29. Arizona Cardinals: DE Noah Spence – Eastern Kentucky.  The former Buckeye will be a nice supplement to an aging defensive line.
  30. Carolina Panthers: LT Jason Spriggs – Indiana.  Michael Oher was great in the blindside movie, but should not be the starting Left Tackle on a Super Bowl Caliber team.
  31. Denver Broncos: QB Paxton Lynch – Memphis. After missing out on resigning Brock Osweiler, losing Peyton Manning to retirement and not getting a deal done for Colin Kaepernick the Broncos find themselves in a desperate need for QB. Right now Mark Sanchez is their starter, Paxton Lynch would find himself in a better situation than if he falls 1 more pick.(Cleveland Browns own pick #32)
